FUSED DICHROIC BEADED NECKLACE

This piece is built around a kiln-fired fused dichroic glass pendant, a surface that does not hold still. The glass shifts between copper, violet, gold, and teal depending on the angle, the room, the moment. Dichroic glass is produced through a vacuum-chamber metallic coating process, originally developed for aerospace optics, that causes the surface to fracture visible light into a full spectrum with every movement. The strand is strung with 8mm studded metal rondel beads, each one faceted and textured so the light does not stop at the pendant. It travels the full length of the necklace. Silver accent beads mark intervals along the strand, giving the composition rhythm without interrupting it. The lobster clasp closure keeps the silhouette clean and the fit precise.
